RAC/PAC and VRF - RAC-0083 DC Fan Corrosion Protection
Slim duct and mini duct indoor-unit DC fan motor countermeasure
Service Bulletin RAC-0083 | Issued 7 June 2018
Purpose: The protection level against electrical corrosion of the DC fan motor used in applicable slim duct and mini duct indoor units was strengthened by adding insulating material near the motor bearing.
1. Change point
- Insulating material was added near the bearing inside the DC fan motor.
- The change is intended to reduce the generation of electrical charge that can cause electrical corrosion.
- There is no change in the external appearance of the motor.
Important: Because there is no visible appearance change, use the motor production-date label and the product serial-number information below to identify the countermeasure status.

3. Service-part identification
For replacement/service motors, check the production date printed on the motor label.
Countermeasure production: Motor production date 18 March 2018 or later.
