J-Series Indoor Unit Addressing
Wireless remote-controller addressing procedure
For assigning indoor-unit addresses A:00 to A:07 and matching the remote-controller custom code
Important: Each indoor unit on the same system must have a unique address. Address A:00 must always be used first.
Power reset required: After all indoor-unit addresses have been set, isolate the system for at least 2 minutes. The new addresses will not be read correctly until power is restored after this reset.
1. Enter address-setting mode
| 1 | At the indoor unit: Press and hold the MANUAL/AUTO button for approximately 3 seconds. |
| 2 | At the wireless remote: Press and hold FAN CONTROL and TEMP + together. While holding both buttons, press the recessed ACL button. |
The remote controller should now display the address-setting screen.
2. Select and confirm the custom code
| 3 | Use the + or − buttons to select the indoor-unit custom code: A, B, C or D. The factory setting is A. |
| 4 | Press VERTICAL AIRFLOW to transmit the custom code to the indoor unit. |
Correct custom code: The indoor unit responds with a confirmation beep.
Incorrect custom code: The indoor unit does not respond.
Incorrect custom code: The indoor unit does not respond.
3. Set the indoor-unit address
| 5 | Press MASTER CONTROL to open the address-setting function. |
| 6 | Confirm the lower display shows 01. If it displays another value, use + or − to set it to 01. |
| 7 | Press FAN CONTROL. The address value will flash. |
| 8 | Use + or − to select the required address from A:00 to A:07. |
| 9 | Press START/STOP once to send the address to the indoor unit. |

Address confirmation: When the command is accepted, the indoor unit beeps and displays the address using the OPERATION and TIMER lamps. Address A:00 does not produce TIMER-lamp flashes.
4. Check the stored address
Press the SLEEP button.

5. Exit address-setting mode
| 12 | Press and hold the indoor-unit MANUAL/AUTO button for approximately 3 seconds. The OPERATION lamp turns off. |
| 13 | Press the remote-controller ACL button. If custom code B, C or D is used, reselect that custom code after pressing ACL. |
6. Repeat for each indoor unit
Repeat the procedure for each indoor unit. Steps involving the custom code only need to be repeated when the custom code is different from the factory setting of A.

Do not overlook the custom code. The remote controller and indoor unit must use the same A, B, C or D code. A mismatch prevents normal wireless control.
8. Common mistakes
