UTY-RVNYN Wired Remote Controller

Adjusting function settings
Accessing function settings, room-temperature sensor control and ducted static-pressure settings
This procedure explains how to enter the service menu on the UTY-RVNYN controller, select a function number and setting value, and apply commonly used sensor and static-pressure settings.
Important: Function settings affect system operation. Only change settings when the required value is known. After completing the function setting, turn the system power OFF and then ON again so the new setting is applied.

1. Access the function settings menu

StepAction
1From the normal controller screen, press the Menu button.
2Press the Menu button again to move through the menu pages.
3Press and hold the left and right screen-selection buttons together for approximately 2 seconds to enter the service menu.
4Use the Down arrow to highlight Function setting, then press the Enter button.

2. Enter a function number and setting value

The Function Setting screen contains three fields:

  • R.C. Address – refrigerant/control address. On a standalone unit this is generally 00.
  • Function No. – the function to be changed.
  • Setting No. – the value to be assigned to that function.
StepAction
1Confirm or select the required R.C. Address.
2Press the Right cursor button to move to Function No. and enter the required function number.
3Press the Right cursor button again to move to Setting No. and enter the required setting value.
4Press the Enter button to register the setting.
5When all required changes are complete, reset power to the system.

3. Room-temperature sensor settings

Function 42 – Indoor room-temperature sensor switching

This setting is used when the wired remote-controller temperature sensor or an optional sensor is to be used.

Setting descriptionFunction No.Setting No.Operation
No (factory setting)4200Room temperature is controlled by the indoor-unit temperature sensor.
Yes4201Room temperature is controlled by the indoor-unit temperature sensor, remote-controller sensor, or optional sensor.

Function 48 – Room-temperature control switching

This setting determines the room-temperature control method when the wired remote-controller/optional sensor is selected.

Setting descriptionFunction No.Setting No.Operation
No (factory setting)4800Room temperature is controlled by the sensors of both the indoor unit and the wired remote controller/optional sensor.
Yes4801Room temperature is controlled by the wired remote-controller/optional sensor.
Common configuration: Where the wall controller is intended to both display and control from its own room-temperature sensor, the source document shows Function 42 = 01 and Function 48 = 01 as the relevant sensor-selection functions.

Optional sensor / controller sensor conditions

The source material also notes that sensor availability depends on whether optional sensors and primary/secondary controller sensors are enabled. If an optional sensor is set to Not in use, it cannot be selected for room-temperature sensing. Likewise, a remote-controller temperature sensor cannot be used when that controller sensor is disabled.

4. Static-pressure setting

Select the static-pressure value that matches the installed ductwork and system requirements.

Setting descriptionFunction NumberSetting Value
Normal (60 Pa) (factory setting)2100
High static pressure 1 (100 Pa)2102
High static pressure 2 (150 Pa)2103
High static pressure 3 (200 Pa)2104
Commissioning note: Static pressure should be selected to suit the actual installation conditions. An incorrect value can affect airflow and overall system performance.
