J Series Outdoor DIP Switch Settings
Outdoor unit PCB switch reference, test functions, capacity settings and external I/O
Use this reference when checking or configuring the outdoor unit DIP switches on applicable J Series VRF systems.
Important: Several DIP switches are marked Forbidden or Never change at the site. Do not alter these switches unless specifically instructed by approved technical documentation.
1. SW1 Setting
SW1-1 and SW1-2 – Test run
All indoor units connected to the outdoor unit can be test-operated using the DIP switch settings below.

2. SW2 Setting
SW2-1 – Silent operation mode
Reduces the outdoor unit noise level at night. This function applies in cooling mode only.

SW2-2: Setting forbidden. Keep OFF.
SW2-3 and SW2-4 – Electric current selector
The upper limit of electric current is selected in four steps according to the local power supply condition and circuit breaker capacity.

3. SW3 and SW4 Settings
Settings forbidden: SW3-1, SW3-2, SW3-3, SW3-4, SW4-1, SW4-2, SW4-3 and SW4-4 must all remain OFF.
4. SW5 Capacity Shift Settings
Cooling and heating capacity can be changed using SW5.

5. SW6 Setting
SW6-1 and SW6-2 – Pipe length switch
This setting supplements losses created by longer refrigerant pipe lengths.

SW6-3 and SW6-4 – Defrost temperature shift
The defrost start and finish temperatures can be changed to suit frost conditions around the outdoor heat exchanger.

6. SW7 Setting – Never Change at the Site
SW7 has been set at the factory. There is no need to set it during installation.
