VRF System Controller - Startup Error "Failed to Create SSL Certificate"
This article summarises Service Bulletin VRF-0154-2, issued 28 February 2018, covering a startup issue affecting VRF System Controller software.

Problem Description
When activating the VRF System Controller, the following error may occur and prevent the controller from starting:

The bulletin states that UTY-APGX / UTY-ALGX upgrade to the newer UTY-xxxxZ1 model.
Version 0.3.1.1 was published to the web from 23 February 2018.
Occurrence Condition
The issue may occur when installing and starting the System Controller for the first time after 19 January 2018.
Recommended Measure
Use the latest software version. For installation details, refer to the installation procedure included with the download file.
Temporary Workaround if the Latest Version Cannot Be Applied
- Change the PC date and time to a date in 2017. The bulletin states that any date in 2017 is acceptable.
- Start the System Controller.
- When the Login Setting screen appears, close the screen using the close button, then exit the System Controller from the Windows task tray.
- Set the PC date and time back to the current date and time.
- Restart the System Controller.
How to Check the Installed Version
The bulletin provides three methods:
- Carton box label
Check the version printed on the label attached to the carton box. - CD or DVD label
Check the version printed under the model name on the label side of the CD or DVD. The bulletin notes that this information is not printed on the WHITE-USB-KEY. - From the application
Right-click the VRF Controller icon in the Windows task tray, select Version, and check the version displayed.
