SubjectChange of service parts - Control Box Cover Sub Assy
Important: The new service cover has a different hole position and cannot be screwed to the current / older control box in the original position. The service hint states that the air conditioner can be used without these screws.

Reason for the Change

The service part number was changed because the shape of the control box cover was revised.

  • The new control box cover uses a different mounting-hole position.
  • When the new cover is fitted to the current / older control box, the existing pilot hole may no longer align.
  • The new control box design includes changes around the terminal area, including an added terminal and an expanded deep-drawing section.
Service implication: If the new replacement cover does not align with the existing screw hole on an older control box, the bulletin advises that the unit may be used with the cover fitted without the affected screw(s).

Parts note: The service hint states that service stock of the current / older control box cover had no shipping record and no inventory. If ordering a replacement, use the applicable new service part number.

Service Guidance

  1. Confirm the indoor unit model and serial number.
  2. Order the applicable new control box cover service part.
  3. When fitting the new cover to an older control box, expect the revised hole position to differ from the original pilot hole.
  4. Do not modify the control box solely to recreate the original screw position unless another approved instruction specifically requires it.
  5. Where the revised cover cannot be secured at the original hole, follow the service hint and use the cover without the affected screw(s).
