PAC Ducted Models - Drain Pump DIP Switch Setting Correction
This article summarises Service Bulletin RAC-0074, issued 22 August 2017, regarding a missing explanation in the installation manuals for the drain pump DIP switch setting on applicable ducted indoor units.
- The built-in drain pump is normally set to ON / Enable from the factory.
- If the drain pump is not required, the drainage function can be set to OFF / Disable.
- The setting is made using DIP Switch 101 - Switch 1.
- SW101-1 ON = Drainage function Disable.
- SW101-1 OFF = Drainage function Enable (factory setting).
- SW101-2 must not be changed.
- SW101-3 is used for the fan delay setting.
Background
The original installation manuals included the DIP switch instructions for the fan delay setting but omitted the explanation for the drain pump setting.
The bulletin corrected this omission by adding the Drainage Function Setting to the SW101 DIP switch table.
Drainage Function Setting
The drain pump is normally enabled. Where the built-in drain pump is not required, set the drainage function to Disable using DIP Switch 101.
| DIP Switch 101 | ON | OFF | Function |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Disable | Enable - Factory Setting | Drainage function setting |
| 2 | - | - | Cannot be used - Do not change |
| 3 | Enable | Disable - Factory Setting | Fan delay setting |

How to Set the Drain Pump Function
- Isolate power to the indoor unit before changing DIP switch settings.
- Locate SW101 on the indoor unit control PCB.
- Identify DIP Switch 1.
- For normal operation with the drain pump enabled, set SW101-1 to OFF.
- If the built-in drain pump is not being used, set SW101-1 to ON to disable the drainage function.
- Do not change SW101-2.
- Restore power and confirm normal unit operation.
Fan Delay Setting
The same SW101 block is also used for the fan delay function when an auxiliary heater is installed.
- SW101-3 ON: Fan delay enabled.
- SW101-3 OFF: Fan delay disabled - factory setting.
- When enabled, the indoor fan continues operating for approximately 1 minute after operation stops while using an auxiliary heater.
