Wi-Fi Adapter LED Behaviour and Reset

Understanding power, communication, setup and fault indications
The LEDs on the Wi-Fi adapter provide a quick indication of power, network connection, setup status and some fault conditions. Use the tables below to identify the current adapter state before carrying out a reset or further troubleshooting.

1. Power LED (Green)

StatusMeaning
ON (Solid)Adapter is powered and operating normally.
Flashing (Slow)Adapter is booting or initialising.
Flashing (Fast)Reset process or firmware update is in progress.
OFFNo power is present or the adapter may have a fault.

2. Communication LED (Orange / Amber)

StatusMeaning
ON (Solid)Successfully connected to a Wi-Fi network.
Flashing (Slow)Searching for or attempting to connect to a Wi-Fi network.
Flashing (Fast)Connection error or the adapter is attempting to re-establish communication.
OFFAdapter is not connected to Wi-Fi.

3. WPS / Setup LED (Blue)

StatusMeaning
Flashing every 0.5 secondsWPS mode is active and waiting for pairing.
Flashing every 2 secondsA connection is being established.
ON (Solid)Pairing has been successful.
OFFWPS / setup mode is inactive.

4. Error and Reset Indications

LED PatternMeaning / Action
Both LEDs flash together 3 timesAdapter reset has been initiated or completed.
Alternating LED flashesCommunication or registration failure.
All LEDs OFFCheck the adapter power supply and physical connection.

5. Initialisation / Reset Procedure

  1. Press and hold the SETUP button for 10 seconds or more.
  2. All LEDs will flash three times simultaneously at approximately 0.5-second intervals.
  3. The adapter will then reboot and return to its normal LED indication.
Important: A reset can clear the adapter's network or registration settings. Only perform a reset when required as part of setup or troubleshooting, and be prepared to reconnect the adapter to Wi-Fi afterwards.
