VRF Remote Monitoring Tool - Web Monitoring Guide

This article explains how to use the VRF Remote Monitoring Tool to view system status, operating temperatures and pressures, historical data, error history and troubleshooting information.

Note: The source guide shows an older version of the web interface running in Microsoft Internet Explorer. Screen layout and browser appearance may differ on later installations, but the operating concepts and menu functions remain useful for reference.

1. Open the Web Monitoring Tool

  1. Open the VRF System web page.
  2. Select WEB MONITORING TOOL.
  3. Enter the supplied UserID and Password, then select Login.

2. System List Page

The System List is the first main page displayed after login. It provides a quick overview of the connected VRF system and indoor units.

Information shown can include:

  • Indoor unit capacity
  • Indoor unit type
  • Operating status - ON / OFF
  • Operating mode
  • Set temperature
  • Room temperature
  • Heat exchanger / coil temperatures
  • EEV position
  • Error status
  • Fan status
Useful for diagnosis: The System List is a quick way to identify which indoor units are operating, what mode they are in, and whether any obvious temperature or error condition is present.

3. Open the Details Page

  1. From the System List, select the Detail tab or button.
  2. Select the required Ref. No. from the drop-down list.
  3. Select OK to load the selected system.

The source example selects Ref. No. 04, but the reference number will depend on the system being monitored.

4. Details Page - Live System Information

The Details page provides a more complete view of system operating conditions. This is the main page for detailed diagnosis and live monitoring.

5. Using the Graphs

Graphs on the Details page can be used to observe how operating values change over time.

  • Select the required indoor or outdoor unit.
  • Use the available graph buttons to display the required data.
  • Select Enlarge where available to expand a graph for easier viewing.
  • Use graphs to compare changes in temperature, pressure, EEV position and other available operating values.

6. Operational History

Select the History section to review recorded operating data.

The History section can be used to:

  • Select a specific indoor unit.
  • Review operational history by date and time.
  • Review recorded temperatures and operating conditions.
  • Review EEV position and other available component data.
  • Use graph functions to review trends.
  • Enlarge graphs where required.
Diagnostic tip: Historical information is particularly useful for intermittent faults because the system may be operating normally by the time a technician connects to it.

7. Error History

Select Error History to view stored fault information.

  • If an error has occurred, the associated error information is stored in this section.
  • Use the available system, unit and date selections to locate the required event.
  • Recorded error codes can be reviewed against the affected unit.

8. Troubleshooting / Error Information

The monitoring tool also includes a Troubleshooting section containing error-code information.

  • Select Troubleshooting from the top menu.
  • Select the applicable indoor or outdoor unit category.
  • Select the required error or fault category.
  • Review the listed generation condition, corresponding operation, reset condition and possible error cause.

Recommended Diagnostic Workflow

  1. Log in and review the System List for obvious abnormal units.
  2. Open the Details page for the affected refrigerant system.
  3. Check live outdoor pressures, temperatures and operating status.
  4. Check indoor unit status, temperatures and EEV position.
  5. Review graphs for abnormal trends.
  6. Check History if the fault is intermittent.
  7. Check Error History for stored faults.
  8. Use Troubleshooting to interpret the recorded error code and continue diagnosis.
