Display bug when S-series and V-series indoor units are mixed
Applicable to UTY-ASGXZ1 and UTY-AMGXZ1 | Service Bulletin VRF-0150
Earlier software versions may display incomplete or misaligned sensor information when S-series and V-series indoor units are connected within the same refrigerant system. Updating to version 0.2.0.3 (M14) or later corrects the display issue.
Important: This issue affects the way sensor information is shown in the software. Confirm the actual system condition before making service decisions based on readings from an affected version.
1. Issue description
When S-series and V-series indoor units are mixed within the same refrigerant system, affected software versions may not map the available sensor channels correctly.
- The Detail Diagram screen may display indoor-unit sensor information for only one of the two series.
- The Operating History and Status List screens may show sensor values in the wrong columns or positions.
- Temperature and electronic expansion valve readings may therefore appear to belong to the wrong indoor unit or sensor channel.
Example of the display fault shown in Service Bulletin VRF-0150.
2. Applicable models and software versions
| Tool | Model | Update required | Corrected version |
|---|---|---|---|
| Service Tool | UTY-ASGXZ1 | 0.2.0.0, 0.2.0.1 or 0.2.0.2 | 0.2.0.3 (M14) or later |
| Web Monitoring Tool | UTY-AMGXZ1 | 0.2.0.0, 0.2.0.1 or 0.2.0.2 | 0.2.0.3 or later |
Production change: Units produced from September 2017 onward were supplied with the corrected software version. Existing stock did not require unpacking because the software could be updated digitally.
3. Software update procedure
Automatic update
- Confirm the computer has an active internet connection.
- Launch the Service Tool or Web Monitoring Tool.
- When the message “Update for the later version is available” appears, select Yes.
- Allow the latest installer to download.
- Close any older version of the tool if it remains open.
- Follow the on-screen installation instructions.
Manual update
- While the software is running, right-click its icon in the Windows task tray.
- Select Version.
- Select Checking for later version.
- If version 0.2.0.3 (M14) or later is displayed, select Update.
- Complete the same installation steps used for the automatic update.
4. Identifying tools that require the update
| Check point | Action required |
|---|---|
| Carton label | Update if the version is 0.2.0.0, 0.2.0.1 or 0.2.0.2. |
| Installed application | Open the Version screen and check the lower-left version number. Update if it shows 0.2.0.0, 0.2.0.1 or 0.2.0.2. |
| Corrected software | Version 0.2.0.3 (M14) or later indicates that the display fix has been applied. |
5. Verification after updating
- Confirm the software version is 0.2.0.3 (M14) or later.
- Open the Detail Diagram for each S-series and V-series indoor unit.
- Confirm all expected sensor values are displayed.
- Compare the Detail Diagram, Operating History and Status List screens to verify that sensor values align with the correct columns and indoor-unit channels.
- Record the updated software version in the service report.
Summary: Mixed S-series and V-series systems can display incorrect sensor information when using software versions 0.2.0.0 to 0.2.0.2. Update the Service Tool or Web Monitoring Tool to version 0.2.0.3 (M14) or later before relying on the displayed data for diagnostics.
