Overview

The Service Mode on the UTY-RVNYN wired remote controller allows technicians to configure key system settings such as operation mode exemptions, temperature range limits, and temperature sensor correction.
All operations must be performed within 3 minutes after power-up.

1. Entering Service Mode

  1. Access the Service Menu

    • Press the [Menu] button twice while the “Monitor” screen is displayed to enter the Submenu.

    • Press and hold both [Left] and [Right] Screen Switch buttons simultaneously for 5 seconds.
→ The display switches to the “Service” screen.

  2. Activate R.C. Function Setting

    • Press [Left Screen Switch] + [Enter] + [Down Cursor] simultaneously for 5 seconds.
Note: Apply consistent pressure; pressing too hard may prevent detection.

    • The screen changes to “R.C. Function Setting.”

2. Service Mode Configuration Options

(a) Operation Mode Exemption

  • Allows removal of specific operation modes (e.g., “Dry,” “Heat”) from the controller’s user menu.
(This does not disable the mode at the indoor unit.)

    Procedure:

    • From the “R.C. Function Setting” screen, select Operation Mode Exemption.

    • Use the cursor to check or uncheck operation modes to be exempted.

  • Notes:

    • In dual controller configurations, set the same exemptions for both Primary and Secondary units.

    • Indoor units retain the last active mode, so memory overwrite is unnecessary after operation.

(b) Set Temperature Range (Initial)

  • Restricts the available temperature adjustment range for each operation mode.

    Procedure:

    • Select Set Temp. Range (Initial) from the list.

    • Adjust the upper and lower temperature limits for each operation mode (Cooling, Heating, Auto).

    • Confirm settings with [Enter].

  • Notes:

    • Apply the same range on both controllers if dual control is used.

    • Once set, the temperature range remains fixed until reconfigured.

(c) Room Temperature Correction

  • Adjusts the displayed room temperature to match actual conditions, compensating for sensor deviation.

    Procedure:

    • Select Room Temp. Correction.

    • Adjust the correction value (e.g., ±2°C) using the cursor buttons.

    • Confirm by pressing [Enter].

  • Recommendation:
Use a calibrated thermometer at sensor height to verify and fine-tune accuracy.

3. Important Notes

  • Perform all operations within 3 minutes after turning on power.

  • All adjustments made in Service Mode are stored automatically upon confirmation.

  • In dual controller setups, always set both controllers to the same parameters to ensure consistent operation.
