It is normal for water to drain from the outdoor unit, particularly during colder months. This occurs as a result of condensation and the melting of frost or ice that forms on the outdoor coil during heating operation.
There is no cause for concern — this is a standard function of the system and does not indicate a fault. The outdoor unit is fully weatherproof and designed to safely withstand rain, condensation, and other environmental moisture.
If preferred, a drain line can be connected to the underside of the outdoor unit to redirect runoff water to a more suitable location.
The necessary drain connection parts are supplied inside the outdoor unit packaging, although these are often discarded by installers unless requested by the customer.
If a drain connection is required, the parts can be supplied upon request, and a licensed installer or service technician will need to carry out the installation.
Both indoor and outdoor drain water can be safely discharged into a garden area — it is non-harmful to plants or grass, but it should not be consumed.
The indoor unit also features a drain pipe that carries condensate water outside the building during cooling operation. This drain is installed as part of the standard installation process.
For reference, the table below lists the drain connection components and their corresponding part numbers. Please ensure the correct quantities are requested.
